BRAMPTON PUBLIC LIBRARY
BRAMPTON/ON/CAN
In October, 2014, two way radios were purchased by Brampton Library for the use at Four Corners Branch, a large downtown outlet. The primary purpose of these radio headsets is to ensure that staff, working on two floors, remain in close communications to better support each other in security and emergency situations and for customer support. At a preliminary meeting, Juris Utnans from Two Way Radio delivered a detailed and informative presentation about the variety of products offered including positive testimonials from Markham Library staff about their success using their headsets.
Four Corners staff initially tested the radios to become comfortable with wearing the various headset options during a two-week trial period. Staff now report feeling much more comfortable working alone on the second floor of the branch and more confident in their ability to assess and handle security and customer request issues, while staying in close contact with their colleagues. Installation of an “Easy Assist Call Button” provided by Two Way Radio, has proven to be a good solution for customers waiting for assistance at the service desk when staff are not present. The automated call for assistance is heard on the headsets so that the staff can return to the service desk.
Two Way Radio has provided excellent follow-up service with staff at Four Corners and can be counted on to respond to any questions or concerns in a timely fashion.
