ST. CONRAD CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Dear Principal Colleagues: Over the years, the school had bought many different radios to use within the school. Our main concern at St. Conrad was not interrupting instructional time with calls to the custodian or for the school principal over the school’s PA system. Our office area turned into a virtual bone-yard for two-way radios purchased from retailers like Best Buy and The Future Shop. The radios neither lasted nor provided the clear communication we required.

This year, we purchased Motorola DTR radios from Juris Utnans; he was great. He came to the school to field test the radios, work through the procedures with the office staff and caretaker, and programmed the radios for the caretaker, secretary, and me. Now, our communications are clear and the radios have proven themselves dependable throughout the day. We charge them at night and they’re ready to go in the morning.

I highly recommend these radios for school use. They may cost a bit more than the retail radios we’re used to buying but their life expectancy, ease of use, and clarity are well beyond them.
